Central Jersey Medical Center Provides Hope
Central Jersey Medical Center (CJMC) takes this opportunity to remind us that Substance Use Disorder (SUD) affects millions of people throughout the country. It is not based on age, race, income, or where you live. SUD is often misunderstood and the stigma that is associated with this health condition.
The CJMC through its MAT services offers education and empowerment and wants you to know that recovery is possible with proper treatment,
What is Substance Use Disorder?
A chronic medical condition, Substance Use Disorder does not mean that someone is a moral failure. It has to do with brain chemistry that affects decision-making, impulse control, and behavior. Like other chronic conditions SUD can require ongoing management and support.
Understanding the Stigma
Feelings of shame or judgment from people can hinder someone suffering with SUD from seeking treatment for their condition. Prevention, treatment, and recovery can be delayed because of a social stigma, but the CJMC can provide help and understanding at its MAT wing located within the medical center in Perth Amboy.
Your Recovery Is Possible at CJMC
Although recovery can be different for everyone, CJMC wants you to be confident that it is achievable through evidence-based treatments such as counseling, medication-assisted treatment, support, and other strategies that are helping to save lives.
